The 2025 strategic retreat of the Association of Working Children and Young of the DRC
The 2025 strategic retreat of the Association of Working Children and Young People of the DRC (AWCY-RDC) officially began on March 27, 2026 in Burundi, bringing together members of the coordination, the technical team as well as committed volunteers. This meeting lasting several days constitutes a key moment for the organization, dedicated to reflection, the evaluation of past actions and the planning of future directions.
In his opening remarks, the Coordinator underlined the importance of this retreat as a space for consolidating acquired knowledge and strengthening internal cohesion. He also praised the efforts made by the teams on the ground in 2025, despite a context marked by numerous challenges.
The work began with a summary presentation of the achievements of the past year, followed by participatory discussions to identify successes, constraints and lessons learned. During this retreat, participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their capacities in project management, monitoring-evaluation and resource mobilization.
This initiative aims to provide the AWCY-DRC with a clear operational vision for 2026, in order to increase its impact in favor of vulnerable children, young people and women. It also demonstrates the organization’s ongoing commitment to promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
