Distributed rabbits to 100 displaced and urban refugee women in Uvira DR Congo
In Uvira, AEJT-DRC, with financial support from GIZ through the QUALIPRO project, is continuing its work to promote the economic empowerment of displaced women and urban refugees affected by humanitarian crises in the region. As part of this project, several capacity-building activities have been organized, including practical training in livestock farming techniques, simplified management of income-generating activities, and community entrepreneurship.
Following these training sessions, AEJT-DRC distributed rabbits to 100 displaced and urban refugee women, each receiving three rabbits to start or strengthen a small-scale livestock farming operation. This support aims to enable beneficiaries to put the knowledge acquired during the training sessions into practice and develop sustainable economic activities within their communities.
Rabbit farming represents a significant opportunity for these women, as it requires relatively little investment and offers a rapid breeding cycle. Through this activity, beneficiaries will be able to improve their households' food security, generate additional income, and gradually contribute to the recovery of the family economy.
Through this initiative, AEJT-DRC and its partner GIZ/QUALIPRO reaffirm their commitment to supporting the resilience of displaced women and urban refugees by offering them concrete opportunities to rebuild their livelihoods and sustainably improve their living conditions in Uvira. 🐇🌱🤝
